On June 15, upon the leaders and guests from various circles pressing the pushbutton for cutting the first steel plate, the global first 85000 m3 VLEC constructed  for JHW Engineering & Contracting Ltd was under smooth commencement by DSIC, where Jaccar Group Director Jacques de Chateauvieu, JHW Executive Director Wang Jianping, GM Zhu Shengxun, DSIC leaders Liu Zheng and Yang Zhizhong attended the ceremony, together with various guests invited from energy company, bank leasing, SinoSure and DNV.

The 85000 m3 VLEC has been concerned from very beginning of the project, which is arranged with 4 liquefied gas tanks, three of which are IMO Type C  cargo tanks, propelled by CPP driven by dual fueled  low speed M/E. Meanwhile, the vessel has created many a first: the global first Type C VLEC with a loading volume up to 85000 m3, the single Type C  tank with the global largest volume, and the first MAN patented ethane/ diesel dual fuelled low speed M/E. the project has hit the new height in its technical content, building proposal and building difficulty, which has not only helped expand the scale of gas carriers for Jaccar and raised their market competence,  but also marked that the product mix of DSIC Offshore has been involved in a brand new area to achieve transformation and upgrading in its development.
