The 110K ton crude oil tanker/product oil tanker #44 built by DSIC for Maersk was successfully launched on 28th December, which signaled that DSIC has achieved the annual production target.
The 110K ton crude oil tanker/product oil tanker was tailor-made by DSIC for Maersk and has the feature of energy-saving and environment protection. This is a double-bottom and double-shell product oil tanker. The hull adopts the structure of corrugated bulkhead and outward deck. As to the cargo oil system, the independent pump room structure was replaced by an independent oil hold deep-well system. It was the first time that DSIC designed such a structure and type of system. The 110K ton crude oil tanker/product oil tanker #44 is the second vessel of this series. Based on the experience obtained from the first vessel and after careful planing and organization, this vessel’s slipway time was shortened by about 30% compared with the first vessel. Hull formation, aligning shaft by light , painting, grinding and etc were all improved to certain degree. Meanwhile, the shipbuilding integrity was also increased greatly. The hull structure and ballast tank tightness were approved, the painting of ballast tank and all shell plates were completed before the launching.
