On September 18th, DSIC held a naming ceremony for the 319,000-ton VLCC No.78 built for Dalian COSCO Marine Oil Transportation Co, Ltd. Leaders of DSIC including Yang Zhizhong and Deng Changlian attended the naming ceremony. Ms. Wu li, a guest, named the ship “Yuan Xin Hu”.
“Yuan Xin Hu” is a new generation of highly competitive brand ship developed by DSIC independently. It is an energy-saving and environment-friendly anti-sediment VLCC product tailored by DSIC for Dalian COSCO Shipping. The ship sails in unlimited navigation area and has an endurance over 25,000 nautical miles.This ship has a total length of 332.5 meters, a width of 60 meters, and a maximum deadweight of 319,000 tons. With a designed draft of 20.5 meters, it can carry 2 million barrels of crude oil through the Malacca Strait, which greatly facilitates the operation of the ship.
This type of vessel is a super large crude oil vessel with high quality in terms of safety, environmental protection and economy. Using excellent ship hull lines, with energy-saving main engine and new efficient propeller, the fast performance of the ship is improved effectively; It is equipped with LNG-READY structure, and has the ability to install LNG tanks and use LNG as fuel in the later stage; it adopts the patent design of anti-sediment to solve the problem of sediment deposition in ballast tank, which has been hard to be solved for years for the shipowners; Reliable anti-corrosion measures extend the service life of the ship and bring huge profits to the shipowner.
During the construction stage in the dock, DSIC focused on the production technology preparation and production organization, strictly planned, specified responsibilities, followed up the progress and coordinated closely, and realized the docking as scheduled, which laid a good foundation for the underwater continuous commissioning and inspection. Facing the severe test of the underwater commissioning period of only 40 days, DSIC planned and organized scientifically and successfully to complete the navigation task as planned. Only 20 days after the trial trip, the ship has reached the state of delivery, which is highly praised by the shipowners.
