With a long whistle, the first 72kDWT product carrier latest developed and constructed for COSCO Dalian by DSIC was launched smoothly from the slipway on Aug.14.
During her construction, in combination with production resources, work load and technical preparation, DSIC has conducted preliminary planning for the product and total staff training for key links in production beforehand. Innovate and execute new workmanship, organize relevant specialized staff to define secondary single-ship building methodology and draw up list. Since the carrier fulfilled construction technology of “cancellation of pre-blast structural repair”, a higher requirement for the whole production process of hull structure has been raised up. DSIC has kept building quality under strict control, organizing specialized inspector to conduct 100% internal inspection for special coating so as to promote building quality to rise up through management innovation and improvement of test methods. The building period is 87 days on the slipway, with the whole ship under good condition prior to launching. The whole-ship RT was completed 17 days and UT 7 days ahead of the launching milestone, which has created favorable condition for smooth promotion in the phase of on-water construction.
