On June 5, DSIC named for delivery of No.73 308k DWT VLCC “Xin Long Yang” constructed for COSOC Shipping, where the representatives signed on the Delivery & Acceptance Protocol on behalf of COSCO Shipping, CSOC and DSIC respectively. DSIC leaders Yang Zhizhong, Cai Zhuyi, Deng Changlian and Hu Jianzhong attended the ceremony.
“Xin Long Yang” is the new generation of energy saving VLCC independently developed by DSIC, which is a brand shiptype with great market competence tailor made for COSOC Shipping. The VLCC is abt. 333m LOA, 60m breadth molded, and max.308k DWTs, capable of carriage of 2 million buckets of crude oil across the Strait of Malacca under design draft of 20.5m, which has facilitated ship operation greatly as a result. The VLLCC has adopted excellent ship hull forms, equipped with energy-saving M/E and new-type large-diameter high efficiency propeller, which have improved ship rapidity effectively. In addition, arrangement of energy-saving vane and rudder bulb with proprietary property right on board has reduced loss of energy, raised propelled efficiency and lowered fuel oil consumption.
During her construction, DSIC has shortened in-dock building period greatly with deliberate preliminary plan and organization in situ. Meanwhile, ship hull welding quality has been further improved, strength acceptance tests for 60% of ballast tanks and cargo oil tanks completed, and undocking integrity reached a higher level, which have won high recognition of the shipowner for fine product quality. During sea trial, various systems on board have passed validation smoothly with performance indicators of speed, oil consumption and EEDI to take a domestic lead.
